How much info is really on a facebook profile? Mine has a few random quotes from 4 years ago, and a few "bands" that I listed that were actually just things sitting in my dorm room at the time.

Ironically I quit facebook because I couldn't be the real me anymore because social networking became such a standard thing that people's mom's were getting them and I felt I had to project the same false image as I do to the real world.

I laughed at this at first but then I thought about it--actually I've been feeling totally schizophrenic whenever I try to post something on facebook lately, now that I've got friends and acquaintances and siblings and parents and old family friends and classmates and colleagues on there and can't get my head around the privacy settings. I realize I project a slightly different identity to each group, and I'm almost getting to the point where there's no overlap between all the identities and there's nothing I can comfortably say anymore.

Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.
