Obama is boxed in.

maybe, maybe not. although he does seem to be losing about every fight he's entered. I use his attempt to loosen the FOIA restrictions as the best example of a subtle attempt to open up the govt.- worked for a bit, then when TPTB realized how dangerous that was they put the kibosh on it rapidly. and Obama deferred, imo, far too easily. in fact, it seems the he quits almost as soon as there is organized powerful opposition. this is not the way a leader should perform. I think the phrase 'all in' in reference to healthcare is apt. perhaps this would be the right example for boxed in. (I admit to extreme disappointment if he caves on civil trial for KSM...) I admit to extreme disappointment if he caves on civil trial for KSMOut of curiosity, why do want a civil trial for him? I disagree with you on Obama being "All In"...on anything. I think he's trying to be conservative (not in the political sense), and I really can't figure out why. Granted, he isn't a dictator, he still has to get the approval of congress, but it seems like he isn't even trying anymore :(. Reply to this |

a civil trial, criminal trial, might show citizens(and the world)that the government has confidence in the legal system. a system that has worked(?) for some time. a step in the right direction, imo. all in, Obama's presidency will win or lose based on this particularly obnoxious piece of legislation Reply to this |
