IT is almost always easier for the VC world than hard science; the barriers to entry are often lower, and the return is faster. It fits the VC model better. Hardcore R&D into alternative energy often fits the profile of a company like GE better--they can stand 10 years to take a return, and can afford $200 million in R&D before seeing it. Reply to this |
